Siloam Hall, Tuesday, Nov. 3rd 7:30 p.m
You are invited to come and smell the coffee as we provide a roasting and ‘cupping’ experience, complete with the musical ambiance of acoustic guitar.

This meeting will represent the final approval stage for moving ahead on the Siloam Hall project. All members are encouraged to attend and lend their opinions and support to the evening’s discussion, concerning this bold new direction for the UAA.

Participate in the meeting, and learn more about the UAA’s Siloam Hall proposal, and extend your voice and/or vote to this unique arts- centric opportunity for Uxbridge.

Non-members welcome.

The UAA has a vision for the Siloam Hall as a focal point for the arts. Exploring just one of our options as an example, we expect the hall will provide a venue for the creative pairing of sensory and artistic endeavours, facilitating the exposure and experience of art, craft, music, and literature, with each other, as well as with fun and flavourful complementary experiences.

Imagine an event where local ‘caficionados’ who home-roast exotic blends of java offer ‘cupping’ sessions with samples of: Brazilian South Minas Gerais done to a nice Full City Roast, Panama SHB Boquete, Ethiopian Limu, or Kenyan Heavy Mbuni (to name a few), and pair it with a themed art exhibition featuring the work of ceramic artists that create vessels and mugs, for instance, as well as contemporary art hangings mounted on gallery partitions.

Patrons will become infused in this full sensory ambiance, peruse the art, speak with artists and coffee roasters, and relax in a visual, aromatic, and socially stimulating environment. Options exist to embellish the experience further with a related mini-workshop in either the main hall, or in one of the activity rooms downstairs, enticing an even wider demographic.

Themed pairings of: art and music (upon the quaint Hall stage), inspirational writing/art-making on-the-spot to live music jams, horticulture and art, poetry readings and poetic visual art, are but a few of the possibilities. Additionally, juried, solo, group, and invitational art shows, open studio workshops, art competitions, and art experiences for adults and children, will deliver a wide palette of artistic exposure to, and with, our multifaceted community.

This facility will be available to both memers and non-members

Mission Statement

The Uxbridge Arts Association nurtures and promotes the arts in the Uxbridge area. We facilitate communication among arts organizations, artists and patrons, raise the profile of the arts and provide arts-related information to the community.

Uxbridge Township is a uniquely artistic area; the quality and quantity of artists, both professional and non-professional, who live and create their art in Uxbridge, is impressive…and sometimes overwhelming.

What do we do?

The Uxbridge Arts Association provides information through our Arts Directory, Calendar and Arts Newsletter. These resources help you find the information you need, and, most importantly, helps you become involved in the cultural world of Uxbridge. For example:

Why should you join?

Plan to join now and receive:

  • Annual Arts Directory; a valuable tool to reference artists, venues, contacts, organizations, and technical and administrative help;
  • Artsbridge; an arts-related quarterly newsletter, featuring articles about our artists and listings of upcoming arts events in the Uxbridge area;
  • E-mail announcements of events, arts opportunities and upcoming classes.

Artists, Instructors and Arts Organizations can:

  • list and promote events in the on-line Calendar, the UAA newsletters and website;
  • link their web-site to the UAA site;
  • advertise their business in the newsletter for a reduced fee;
  • use our public meeting space for a nominal fee.

Everyone Is Welcome To Join

  • Individual Artists (professional or recreational);
  • Arts Groups or Organizations (theatre groups, galleries, book clubs, writing groups, schools of the arts, elementary and secondary schools, choral groups, music ensembles, dance companies etc);
  • Patrons of the Arts (audience members, readers, gallery viewers and art purchasers, students or donors, without whom the arts and artists could not exist.).

You can join on-line or by contacting membership@uxbridgearts.ca.

The Uxbridge Arts Association is also pleased to accept donations to offset our operating expenses.
